The Person Behind the Pencils

At heart, I'm simply someone who loves getting lost in a colourful pile of pencils and paper. You'll often find me sketching on the train or writing in a cozy café, constantly capturing the world around me. There's nothing better in life than bringing vibrancy and joy to children's stories—it's what gets me out of bed every morning and keeps my imagination firing. Stories—both written and visual—are my absolute passion. While I might not consider myself particularly fascinating, the worlds in my imagination are genuinely extraordinary!

Professional Background

As a illustrator and writer, I bring over thirty years of professional arts experience to every project I undertake.

Illustrations that create engaging visual narratives filled with vibrant colours and quirky characters that speak directly to young readers while appealing to adults are my specialty. I am versatile in multiple illustration styles, blending classical artistic training with contemporary digital expertise.

My Master of Fine Arts from the National Art School forms the foundation of a dynamic creative career that has included establishing an animation studio, working in 3D production, creating light art installations for significant events like VIVID Light and the Australian Open, and producing various artistic media from fine art to sculpture. Though relatively new to children's publishing, this breadth of professional arts experience provides a rich creative foundation that enhances each project, allowing me to bring unique perspectives and technical versatility to my work.
