I'm Aly Indermühle. Artist, illustrator, author, and person who draws way too many cats. Welcome to a place where I share my drawings, books, thoughts, and a whole bunch of silliness in between. If you're looking for the serious stuff... click here to skip the madness, but in all honesty you are missing out. Scroll around, check out my coloring books and the children's books in the making. I promise you'll get to know ME before you know the curated version. This is a place of joy and fun... my little studio online.
WELCOME!

I make art, coloring books, children's books, and big beautiful things for walls and fun spaces. Based in Sydney. Charged up by all things related to any NASA mission, powered by coffee, and assisted by two very underqualified studio assistants who happen to be cats. But don't tell them that…

My Coloring Books

Black and white drawing of a happy fox with a colorful adult coloring book titled 'Playful Coloring: Abstract Kaleidoscopes Coloring Book by Studio Indermuhle'
An illustrated cat standing on its hind legs, holding a colorful abstract flowers coloring book titled "Playful Coloring: Abstract Flowers by Studio Indermuhle" in front of it.
A black and white drawing of a fluffy cat holding a colorful coloring book titled 'Playful Coloring: Abstract Patterns', by Studio Indermuhle. The cat looks up with wide eyes and a curious expression.
A black and white cartoon puppy holding a colorful abstract shapes coloring book titled 'Playful Coloring: Abstract Shapes' with a pink border, filled with vibrant shapes and patterns, by Studio Indermuhle.

These are the coloring books I made as part of the Playful Coloring series. I created them because I wanted to make something that people could really lose themselves in. Bold outlines, fun designs, just waiting for your favorite colors to be added. I really wanted them to feel like a collaboration, like we're sitting across the table coloring together. So far I've made four and there's more on the way!

If you are curious you can look at them here

Illustration by Aly Indermühle (indermuhle) of herself with glasses, curly hair in updo, and a striped shirt holding I See You: A Book for Artists, surrounded by red hearts.

I See You: A Book for Artists is something I made that started as a drawing in my journal, born out of frustration with social media. I wanted to make a carousel, just a few images to flick through, something to connect with other people who were feeling the same way I was. The comparing, the silence, the absolute lack of any real human interaction. But once I started letting it all out, how I was feeling, what I was thinking, all that vulnerability that makes me uncomfortable, I realized the idea was much bigger than a carousel.

What came out was this book. I made it to let you know that you are seen. That the world needs creativity. That it needs artists. And that artists need to know they aren't alone.

If any part of that sounds familiar, this one's for you.

PS. It's all done. I'm just waiting to bring it to you. Sign up for my newsletter below or follow me on Instagram at @alyindermuhle so you don't miss it when it's released.
