Sweet Dreams by artist Aly Indermuhle presents itself as a beautiful spectacle on long winter nights. Like a giant, vibrant candy bowl that has playfully tipped, illuminated sweets have delicately tumbled down the mountainside onto the frozen lake of St. Moritz. These sugary cubes of coloured light engage the snow-filled icy landscape and brighten the winter with colour and life. During the day, the soft tone of the lights is unassuming and quiet, however, with the arrival of the darker hours, one by one, the colours intensify in vibrant illumination as their internal heartbeat comes alive with the slow rhythmic pulsing of light. These rich jewelled tones harmonise in a symphony of meditative abstract visual rhythms, enticing the visitors to venture closer to share moments of memory-making, play, and youthful adventures of exploration. Sweet Dreams speaks to everyone through the experience of light and simplicity of colour; these glowing cubes bring warmth, joy, and excitement to those who gather around them. A sense of connection and place amongst people envelops each individual in the vibrant light. This artwork is about everyone and for everyone, young to old, memories to be made and those of the past in a celebration of the joys of winter.
